As delightful diva, fantastic interviewee and mother-of-five Sophie Ellis-Bextor preps her glad rags for tomorrow's Kitchen Disco, here's the lady herself looking fabulous during one of our many encounters over the years.
I could fill a book with all the exchanges we've had, across various publications and multiple projects, since she became a solo star in 2001 with the double whammy of gay bar staples Take Me Home and Murder on the Dancefloor.
This pic was taken in 2014 and my fondness for a performer who doesn't only remember your name ("Mr Button" she always calls me) but takes time to ask what's going on in your life is blatantly obvious from the hug I'm giving her - a hug that might make other celebs scream for security, but not Sophie.
One of my fondest memories: Bumping into Sophie and her lovely musician husband Richard Jones later that same year at the Hammersmith Apollo during the interval for Kate Bush's awesome Before the Dawn show. We waxed lyrical over Kate's genius and she chatted to my friend Julie like they'd known each other for years.
What a classy lady!
